AlbumPapua. Ralph Regenvanu has been officially chosen to be the Leader of the Opposition in Vanuatu. He was nominated in a meeting on last Wednesday by the 22 MPs in the opposition bloc. Former prime minister Charlot Salwai has been chosen to be his deputy. Salwai’s appointment was not a surprise due to Mr Salwai whom nominated Mr Regenvanu as the opposition’s candidate for prime minister in parliament. However, Regenvanu lost to the newly elected prime minister and president of the Vanuaku Party, Bob Loughman 31 votes to 21.
Congratulation Mr. Regenvanu for your prestigious position, but reminding you that your closeness with Octo Mote not to bring bad things for Papuan people. Several times, we find a wrong comment from the Octo’s given statements, which of course could have an impact on Ralph Regenvanu’s view and insight. At least, Regenvanu and Octo have met in Brussels on May 2017.
