West Papua (AP) – Papua’s Deputy Governor, Kelemen Tinal, during the inauguration of the sago processing business “Sentani Meer” at Kampung Kemiri, Jayapura Regency ,stated that the Government of Papua Province committed to boost productivity of economic growth owned by Orang Asli Papua (OAP). The Sentani Meer factory has been running for 38 years led by Yosephin Yoku Suebu. Because of its consistency efforts in developing sago business for almost four decades, business group   “Sentani Meer” has got fund assistance from the Papua Provincial Government. The government support is expected to inspire other OAPs to develop local natural resource management businesses.

Sagu Sentani factory employee Sentani Meer Moristus Taplo gratefully acknowledged the inauguration of the Papuan primary food processing business is the result of their hard work.  “This is really a good starting point or the main driver of Papuan future growth and prosperity,” he added.
