Road to home : Trans-Papua Highway and Cross Border Road

West Papua (AP) – The Trans-Papua Highway (Indonesian :  Jalan Raya Trans-Papua) refers to 12 road segments, some under construction, across east Papua to West Papua provinces of  Indonesia. The roads expanse from Sorong in the west of island to eastern part of island Merauke with a total length of 4,325 kilometers, with 3,850 kilometers of roads have being completed in March 2017. The completed road segments include 884 out of Indonesia’s 1,068 kilometer border road with  Papua New Guinea.

National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) XVIII Papua, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Osman stated If it is finished, Trans-Papua will be fully connected.

BBPJN begins the construction of Yetetkun Cross-border Post in Ninati District, Boven Digoel Regency, Papua Province. The construction of Yetetkun Cross-border Post is a part of the Government’s commitment to manifest the nine priority agenda (Nawacita) of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s first term, namely “developing border areas”. West Papuan dreams has modern building but keep protecting local customs and traditional.
